Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) is expanding its long-haul flight offerings with a new direct connection to Canada. Starting in the summer of 2025, Canadian airline Air Transat will once again connect Berlin directly to Toronto. This is a welcome comeback that strengthens the international connectivity of BER.
From June 20, 2025, the Berlin-Toronto route will be part of the flight schedule. Initially, there will be two flights per week, on Mondays and Fridays. The route will be served by a modern Airbus A321 LR, offering a comfortable and efficient travel experience. However, the connection will be temporarily paused for the 2025/2026 winter flight schedule.
Airport CEO Aletta von Massenbach welcomes this move: "The new Toronto connection is another important milestone in expanding BER’s long-haul offerings." Thanks to a partnership with Porter Airlines, passengers can also connect to other Canadian destinations like Montreal, Vancouver, or Calgary.
Air Transat is no stranger to the Berlin airport. The airline has previously offered direct flights between Schönefeld and Canada. Its return further highlights the potential of the Berlin-Brandenburg region for the North American market.
